Featuring Lisa Park amazing work

Lisa Park demonstrates and explains her interactive installation “Eunoia II”. “Eunoia II” is a performance with using EEG (brainwave sensor) headset to obtain real-time feedback of her brainwaves and emotional reactions. Park is using emotional values (data) picked up by the EEG headset, which then gets translated into sound waves that create vibrations in the pools of water placed atop speakers. The Emotiv EEG continually transmit data while monitoring her brain activity (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta), and emotional states (Frustration, Excitement, Engagement, Meditation). Throughout the performance of “Eunoia II”, the intensity of her feelings at that time are mirrored in the intensity of the sound output (volume, speed, panning).

American-born raised in South Korea, Park currently lives and works in New York City. She received her BFA in Fine Arts Media from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California. She also holds an MPS form the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
